What to expect before, during and after testing.
Most in-house bloodwork, urinalysis and cytology results are ready within 15–30 minutes, so we can often discuss findings before you leave. Specialised panels sent to an external lab typically take 1–3 days.
The majority, yes — chemistry, CBC, urinalysis, fecal, cytology, digital x-ray, ultrasound and EKG all happen here. A small number of specialised tests, such as certain endocrine panels and biopsies, go to a reference laboratory.
For most bloodwork, a 8–12 hour fast gives us the cleanest results. Water is always fine. We'll tell you when you book if fasting is needed — and never fast puppies, kittens or diabetic pets without asking us first.
Yes. Blood draws, urinalysis and ultrasound are non-invasive and well tolerated. Digital x-rays use a very low radiation dose. Anxious pets can be given light sedation so the experience stays calm and stress-free.
